Thanks in no small
part to the Carnegie, Frick, Mellon and Rooney ;-) families,
Pittsburgh is littered with great places to visit. If you find
that you have some free time before/after the ceremony, we
encourage you to take in some of the sights!

Carnegie Science Center
http://www.carnegiesciencecenter.org
The Carnegie Science Center has been
one of Nick's favorite attractions in Pittsburgh since he was
nothing more than a Cub Scout. The science center offers cool
exhibits for geeks folks of all ages,
including a planetarium, an Omnimax theater and a
decommissioned submarine. Fun for the whole family! It also
happens to be right across the street from... |

Heinz Field

Home of the Pittsburgh
Steelers. Need we say more?

| PNC
Park
Pittsburgh Pirates - PNC Park
Right next door to Heinz
Field and right down the river from the science center,
PNC Park is widely regarded as one of the best parks in
the major leagues. Although the Pirates are in the middle
of a 35-year-rebuilding plan, the park itself is worth a
trip to the ballpark! While you're there, indulge in some
Pittsburgh-area cuisine, such as pierogies, Italian
sausage, or a Primanti Brothers sandwich. Or you could get
a hot dog and a pretzel - completely up to you.

Kennywood Park

Kennywood has been a
Pittsburgh-area institution for over 100 years. As
amusement parks go, this is one of the best - there are
great coasters for the fearless, and plenty of good food &
games for those who enjoy keeping their feet firmly on
terra firma. |

Phipps Conservatory

Phipps Conservatory houses
dozens of beautiful gardens, including a butterfly room.
Liz and Nick recently visited the conservatory for our
engagement photos - they came out great!

| The
Incline
http://www.portauthority.org/ride/pgIncline.asp
No trip to Pittsburgh is
complete without a ride up the delightfully-rickety
incline. The incline, completed in 1870 at a cost of
roughly $50,000, runs between the shore of the Monongahela
River and the top of Mt Washington... |

Mount Washington
Pittsburgh - Mount Washington
Mount Washington sits 600
feet above the city center, providing some of the most
beautiful panoramas available in the Pittsburgh area.
Mount Washington is also home to many fine restaurants,
most of which are perched right on the hillside. Liz
actually took this picture from the Incline's observation
deck... not bad, huh?

This is by no means a comprehensive
list of all of Pittsburgh's attractions - just a few of our
favorites. Pittsburgh also has a vibrant theater district
(including Heinz Hall and the Benedum Theater), several
museums and plenty more. If you'd like additional
recommendations, just ask! |
